!±8± Technical Correspondence - What professionals need to learn

Introduction

Correspondence, perhaps the most widely used in technical writing is often seen as a trivial task administration. But professionally for the non-native English language learning technology, offers the opportunity of correspondence, laboratory activities within a technical organization for the promotion. Articulation of success also means better access to similar organizations abroad. However, writing in the workplace, IT professionals are often forcedleaving materials on business because of the lack of a more appropriate reference. This article examines the correspondence Chinese technique of 52 IT professionals of Industrial Technology Research Institute (Hsinchu, Taiwan) for a period of one year. Based on these observations, identified five most common types of technical correspondence: technical cooperation, technical visits abroad, overseas technical visits, technical training, and the requestInformation.

Five Common Types of Technical Technical correspondence matching 52 Chinese IT professionals of Industrial Technology Research Institute (Hsinchu, Taiwan) were collected and analyzed over a period of one year. The correspondence has been divided into the following five categories:

1 Society for Technical Cooperation with the corresponding technical collaboration typically involves the exchange of research information technology licensees, opening the way forTechnology transfer suggests that, as before, with the technical support and asked to participate in / or accreditation by an international organization, and reporting status of activities. Common patterns in correspondence related to technical cooperation are the following:

a. The name of the organization of the intention to strengthen cooperation under investigation. I am simply stating a desire to organize a collaboration with another organization to avoid confusion.Examples are as follows:

I would like to propose an exchange of technological information between our two organizations in terms of pollution prevention, waste reduction. We are looking for potential licensees of the autoclaved lightweight concrete (ALC), product technology, on behalf of local producers in Taiwan, ROC. In addition to our in-house R & D, we are also considering the possibility of technology transfer by a foreign company, a technology that is ready (or closea) marketing and is already under patent protection. There are currently engaged in a program of development of transmission and to seek foreign partners who are able to develop and tools or in a program of technical cooperation with car manufacturers in the ROC We are committed to involving the development of long-term cooperative relationships with manufacturers, as they are, how. We are aware that the continued success of our work on our exchange and sharing of experience-dependentwith similar organizations.

b. Giving basic information about the organization (eg, mission-critical operations and services). Basic information about the organization allows us to know the other hand, if the mutual interests and skills are compatible. Examples are as follows:

Our organization, Mechanical Industry Research Laboratories (Mirlo), is a subsidiary of the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) was founded by the governmentRepublic of China (ROC). One of our missions is to support the local industry upgrading of technology levels. One of our strategies is to license the technology from abroad. The experimental results were generated far more useful in this project in the environmental protection work of Taiwan.

c. Providing suggestions on how to start the collaboration. Examples are as follows:

I look forward to your ideas and suggestions about this informationTrade opportunities. I would also like to organize a technical inspection for ten days of its organization next May as the first step of our cooperation. If you are interested in licensing this technology, please send this information to the address above for evaluation. A further discussion or a possible visit of the members of the ITRI to your production seems to be the best alternative. I suggest that ABC Corporation is a technician before sending UCLEnd of July and a presentation to the product development of this technology, our scientists and technical staff. Please let me know if there are areas of common interest, you would like to discuss.

Praise d. for the results and the company's reputation. Sincerely recognition or praise for the success the other party in a particular technology, the organization brings to bear the intent and learn from common report.Examples are as follows:

Your company has a long tradition of providing excellent engineering TP results (eg Noryl), the various properties and excellent quality. ABC Corporation is a recognized world leader in the design, manufacture and marketing of transdermal drug delivery system. ABC of the biotechnology company has some interesting products in detail before we would reach the stage of the license are developed. Stat-Rite 2300 is an excellent anti-staticPolymer that is combined with other thermoplastic resins and are used in ESD applications. We believe that these permanent anti-static plastic, has a huge potential market, especially given the emerging electronics industry in Taiwan.

e. description of the cause (s) for technical cooperation. Rather than attempting to describe the organization should own business, writers are specific plans or describe what has been done so far. Examples are as follows:

A newSystem is manufactured in Taiwan to design, develop and produce automatic transmission elements. Therefore we are looking for partners for technical cooperation through licensing agreements and joint ventures. There are currently engaged in a program of development of transmission and to seek foreign partners who are able to develop and the tools are, or may engage in a program of technical cooperation with car manufacturers in the ROC

Liu Institute of Technology professor of Virginia, recommended that we visit your prestigious institution and a time to discuss with you our needs, and learn at their own experiences. We are aware that the continued success of this program depends on our observation and understanding of similar work in other countries. At this point I would like to arrange a visit to your country. I am very interested in visiting Dr. Jones and his collaborators interestedknow all the operational aspects involved in this program.

b. Explanation of the purpose of the visit. A direct statement of what is expected of visiting technical writer, can be confusion about what the other party to provide either unable or unwilling to stop. Examples are as follows:

We must improve our knowledge of carbon black in terms of application of chemistry, characterization and processing (such as ESD protection, wire and cable, coatings and UV protection). SoKnowledge also for the benefit of our customers, many of whom are producers. Purpose: To understand and evaluate the success stories and the current state of Japanese dyeing industry in terms of technology, equipment and information on industrial waste. Compressor visits system, companies that produce systems for heat pump or vapor recompression would be equally useful. Information on the various systems available heat pump would also be very useful forfuture support of these systems in Taiwan.
